Lab Manual Compression Molding Machine Description
Lab Manual Compression Molding Machine is a economical device that compresses or cure polymer materials by driving the pressing plate with a manual hydraulic unit. It allows the mold filled with plastic or rubber materials, or individual materials to be pressed between two heated platens. When operated, you need to press the handle of the manual hydraulic pump back and forth repeatedly to raise the lower platen upward until touching the upper platen and applying increasing forces. After the specified pressure is reached, it is required to be maintained for a given period of time to compress the plastic material into a sheet or to complete the vulcanization of the rubber mixtures for subsequent testing.
Compared with AmadeTech’s electro-hydraulic compression molding presses, the significant feature of this manual press is the power source. This manual operated device features a hydraulic jack on the base. You need to press the operating handle up and down with your hand to drive the large plunger of the hydraulic system to move upward, enabling the lower pressure platen connected to the plunger to slowly move upward until meeting the fixed upper platen to apply required pressure to the material between the plates and maintain the pressure for a period. In terms of operational convenience, the manual model is indeed inferior, and it cannot be equipped with some higher-end functions. However, the advantage is that it not only saves energy, but also has a higher cost performance of the whole machine, which is very suitable for entry-level project with a lower budget.
Our hand-operated compression molding machine is a vertical structure, with 4 guide columns and a horizontal platform forming a stable frame. The two pressure plates are made of rugged SKD mold steel, and the surface is chrome plated and polished to have excellent parallelism, high hardness, exceptional wear and corrosion resistance. The upper pressure plate is fixed, and the lower pressure plate arranged longitudinally in parallel can move vertically up and down driven by the hydraulic ram when you operate it. There are several built-in heating tubes inside the two pressure plates to ensure a uniform temperature supply when the machine is working, and can be heated up to 300 degrees Celsius. We can provide hydraulic systems with different capacities including 10T, 30T and 50T to match your processing needs. When the processing time is reached, you need to manually turn the pressure relief valve to allow the lower pressure plate to return to the starting point with its own weight.
The operation panel of this compression molding press is located at the top of the machine. Its interface layout is reasonable and intuitive for you to operate. There are two thermostats with electronic screens respectively responsible for the temperature setting and real-time display of the upper and lower pressure plates without interfering with each other. You only need to press the corresponding keys of the controller to easily set a target temperature. And there is a separate ammeter on the panel to display the current of the heating module in real time to assist in monitoring the running status of the machine. There is also a timing device on the panel that allows you to set a desired processing time. When the set time is reached, the machine will beep as a reminder.
